🎬 BIG NEWS FROM CIRCLE B PRODUCTIONS!
This November, we're heading into the recording studio with 24 talented local actors to bring more than 50 speaking roles to life in our upcoming feature film, BROKEN ANKLE!
Broken Ankle is a contemporary crime drama about David Mendoza, a former paralegal whose life is shattered when he's convicted of a crime he didn't commit. Confined to a houseboat by an ankle monitor, David faces an even greater nightmare when his mother disappears during an ICE raid, and the law prevents him from searching for her.
🎙️ We're recording our actors over two days in a radio-drama format, allowing them to perform together and bring genuine emotion to their characters.
Our budget for these recording sessions is $7,000, covering 24 local actors and our three-person crew. Everyone will receive their agreed-upon compensation before leaving their recording session.
A NEW CHAPTER IN OUR FILMMAKING JOURNEY
We originally began creating Broken Ankle using Reallusion's 3D animation tools. But producing feature films this way was taking too long. Projects were backing up, expenses continued, and unfinished films couldn't reach audiences or generate revenue.
As we began producing our historical documentary, Brother Jonathan and the Dragon's Teeth, using AI filmmaking, we realized this technology could breathe new life into all our productions.
We're retaining some of our original 3D animation character while developing a distinctive modern photorealistic oil-painting style for our crime dramas. Our historical documentaries will have a fully photorealistic appearance.
After evaluating production costs and timelines, we believe AI filmmaking will allow us to complete a new feature film every 12–15 months.
For our little independent studio, that's a game changer!
AI isn't replacing our actors or our creativity. It's helping us finally bring our award-winning screenplays to the screen.
